J.Crew is the one store where I highly anticipate diving into their style guide each month. The mix of classic essentials and bright punchy hues leaves me with an ongoing mental wish list. The brand portrays classic basics with a trendy infusion (usually through accessories) perfectly, and it fits my style dead on. I mean have you seen that statement necklace? Talk about a gasp-worthy statement piece! They never fail to impress, which these favorite pieces make fab staples to get you through the entire SS seasons.

It’s no surprise that I have an infatuation with J.Crew, considering most of my style posts include at least one (or 5) pieces from the retailer. Their newest Style Guide is completely swoon-worthy. From rich satin and velvety hues, to stripes, glitter, tweed & polkadots-every item is worth lusting over. I’m sharing some of my top picks, what are yours?
You know one of those *omg* moments you have when you spot an insanely fabulous dress that you just have to have?.. Yet you have no idea where you would wear it? I’m still swooning over this gasp-worthy Kate Spade dress. As much as I would love to own one, I feel like if a dress has that big of a wow factor, any repeat offenders are going to come with a big red flag. Sometimes it’s just necessary to wear a statement dress just… once. Having this mindset, I decided to browse the latest styles on Rent The Runway to look for a dress for my friend’s bridal shower. I’ve always been a bit hesitant to rent a dress from the site, because of the chance of it not fitting correctly.
After finding a fabulous dress to fit the shower theme, I realized that there were numerous reviews by customers with their own photos wearing the dress, dress size, measurements, and a comment stating whether the dress was true to size, ran large or small. The detailed reviews and real-life photos showed similar to how the dress would fit me, and the offer of getting an additional size for free convinced me that it was a fool-proof option.
I spotted a burgundy hued Yigal Azrouel Peplum Dress, and yet even though there was no eye-catching embellishment, the simplicity of the dress made a statement of its own.
As you may know by now, I have a serious weakness for statement necklaces, so naturally I had to rent the one suggested. It couldn’t have been more perfect! From fit, to fabric, to color, everything on the list got a check. I’m really happy with my decision to rent a dress and necklace, instead of buying a something I may never repeat wearing. Now if I could just find an excuse to wear this stunning Reem Acra gown.

As Fall approaches, it’s great to find pieces that are versatile and can transition into the next season. A peplum tank is a great staple, but a leather version is ultra-trendy. Pencil skirts, and wide-leg and ankle cropped pants are super chic pairings. Throw on a fitted jacket or top over a long sleeve button-front top when the seasons start to change. Fall’s prints and patterns look fabulous with the trend. 1/2/3/4
You grew up watching it, but did you ever think to look at it as your source of fashion inspiration? Colored denim and smoking slippers were Lisa Turtle’s daily uniform. Jessie Spano lived in denim on denim. Peplum and cropped tops were Kelly Kapowski’s signature items. Pastels, floral pants, and neon accents were the daily norm. Turn on an episode of everyone’s favorite high schoolers and chances are you will spot the latest fashions. Minus the unfortunate hairstyles, who knew 20 years later we’d be copying their style?
