There are certain things that simplify life, dry shampoo being one of them! Luckily I get away with two washes and styles, and dry shampoo the other days of the week. After reading an article on the scary ingredients most dry shampoos contain, I checked the label on my regular go-to and saw ingredients like liquified petroleum gas! No thanks. Since it’s the hair product I use the most, I recently switched to a version free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates. The other major benefits is it’s all organic, and doesn’t have any harsh chemicals. I noticed that dry shampoo in the powder form goes a really long way. Sprinkling it into my palms and rubbing it into my roots absorbs oil and creates a ton of volume, without the damp white residue the aerosol form can leave behind. How cute is the packaging?
I’m more than half way through my third trimester, and so ready for our baby boy to be here! These are some products along with my key essentials like my pregnancy pillow, belly butter & maternity denim that have been beneficial.
25 oz Water Bottle – I love this chic water bottle. It doesn’t sweat, so I can throw it in my purse and it’s handy throughout the day. It keeps cold drinks cold for 24 hours, and hot drinks hot for 12. Bonus: It’s stroller & car cup holder friendly
Third Trimester Tea – This flavorful tea helps your body prep for labor. Ingredients like Red Raspberry Leaf, Chamomile and Rosehips make it a calming drink before bed
Organic Body Lotion – While I continue to use my favorite belly butter religiously, I love this inexpensive organic body lotion for everyday use. It’s really hydrating, dries quickly, and I love the subtle Sweet Orange Vanilla scent
Slip on Sneaks – It’s starting to feel like Spring, these slip on sneakers are super comfy and extremely versatile
Healthy Snacks – I like to keep hummus and fresh cut veggies in the fridge for a midday snack, because I tend to get nauseous or light-headed at times. Another favorite is Skinny Pop mixed with coconut oil spray and Nutritional Yeast, and shaken well. It has a cheesy flavor, and full of vitamins (B12 in particular)
Nursing Nightgown – Comfy nightgowns are the ultimate sleep go-to. Nursing options mean I can wear them long after my pregnancy
Zantac – I’ve learned what foods to avoid that trigger acid reflux and heartburn, but when when it still occurs, my doctor recommended Zantac. I keep it in my handbag, and it ‘s always helpful
I’ve been making this insanely delicious banana bread since college. I adapted the recipe from this cookbook, and swapped some of the ingredients to make it gluten-free. Even though it’s vegan, people still rave about it being the best banana bread they’ve ever had. It’s a must try for Sunday morning!
**Update replace, 1 cup mashed banana with 3 overripe medium organic bananas for best consistency **
These stuffed peppers are one of my Sunday staples. I’m always craving them, so I usually end up making them every couple weeks, because they’re so delicious! I make my homemade tomato sauce first and let it simmer a few hours. If you don’t have the time, a couple jars/cartons (60 oz total) of organic tomato sauce will work just fine. They also freeze well, for a quick dinner.
4 Organic Green Bell Peppers
1 Cup Quinoa, cooked (I season mine while it is cooking with parsley, oregano & black pepper)
2 Veggie Patties, microwaved (I use Amy’s Sonoma Burgers)
1/4 Cup Vegan Mozzarella Cheese Shreds (I use Daiya)
1/4 Cup Vegan, GF Breadcrumbs (optional)
1/4 Cup Dried Parsley
1/4 of an Onion, diced
1 – 2 Flax “Egg(s)” (For 1 Flax “Egg”: Mix 1 T Flax Meal with 3 T Warm Water, let sit for a couple minutes)
2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
Sea Salt & Pepper, to taste
60 oz Homemade or Organic Tomato Sauce
1. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.
2. Wash peppers. Cut around the stem(s) and remove.
3. Cut the peppers in half lengthwise, remove seeds, and place in a 9 x 13″ pan.
3. Mix all remaining ingredients, except for sauce, in a large bowl. One flax egg should hold all the ingredients together well. (If not, use two flax eggs total)
4. Spoon mixture into peppers, filling them and packing them.
5. Pour sauce all over peppers, filling the pan almost covering them.
6. Cover with aluminum foil and cook for 1 hour 30 minutes.
7. Let cool and enjoy 🙂
Fresh flowers and warm sunny days should only be accompanied by light refreshing beverages. Water and tea are my usual vices, but since stumbling upon a light organic lemonade (stevia based, instead of sugar) it’s been a nice occasional change. I’m not a fan of syrups or anything artificial, so for our first cookout/bonfire last weekend, I poured a pitcher of the light lemonade and placed fresh strawberries and mint in the attached infuser. After infusing for a few hours, it had a perfect slightly sweet refreshing taste. Slice up strawberries and mint for garnish and it makes a great party refresher.
A citrusy sangria with an island twist was the perfect way to kick off a Summer party. My goal was to find a healthier version, so I was so happy to discover Oh She Glow’s Sunny White Sangria. It definitely fit the bill! Mason jars, paper straws, and DIY labels add a festive finishing touch.
Directions: Add everything except the sugar into a large pitcher and stir well. Add sugar to taste and adjust until your desired sweetness is achieved. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours prior to serving (I chilled mine overnight.) Before serving, you may add some club soda & ice if desired. Taste again and add more sweetener if necessary.
This is my favorite lunch recipe, it’s filled with a variety of color and flavors and packed with amazing beauty foods and nutrients for great hair, skin and fat burning properties. It’s best made in bulk to enjoy throughout the week, since the recipe includes multiple steps.

I recently got an amazing facial, at an organic salon and spa. I loved the products used so much, I purchased the organic skin care line. My skin looks and feels healthier. I love the idea of using minimal ingredients from all-natural sources. The Bio bottles and packaging make them eco-friendly, too! The benefits of using organic and all natural products are not only healthy for the environment, you also aren’t putting harsh chemicals and parabens on your skin! Win-win!
