Hosting a Galentines Soirée

Brought to you by 1-800-Flowers.

Galentines is the perfect excuse to spend time catching up with the girls over mimosas, brunch, and fresh blooms! I’ll take any reason to style an event, but when it comes to a fun girls soirée celebrating your friendship, I love to incorporate some of my favorite things!

The Menu:  Finally dig through all those to die for recipes you’ve been pinning and go to town! Go for a chic brunch menu with all the fixings or if you’re like me and my tribe and Mexican food is your jam, opt for a nacho bar and serve churros for dessert!

The Decor: Gorgeous flowers set the tone for a colorful party! I used this vibrant bouquet from 1-800-Flowers as my muse for the rest of the decor and it couldn’t have been more perfect for the occasion!

The Activities: Set up a Lip Bar. It’s the perfect time to try out a bold red, or bright pink you’ve been dying to see on! Have fun by layering hues to customize your color!

Gluten Free Blueberry Mini Loaves

Gluten Free Vegan Blueberry Mini Loaves

For a sweet fix in the midst of our weekend projects, I used up the fresh blueberries I had on hand to make muffins. I came across a recipe that was vegan and gluten free (We’ve also tried her belgium waffles, they’re so yummy!) I switched up a few things, like substituting Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free All Purpose Flour for the flour blend, and organic brown sugar instead of white sugar. I also sprinkled a little brown sugar on top before I stuck them in the oven, as well as the last 2 minutes they were baking.

Covering the blueberries (fresh or frozen) in 1 T of the flour blend was a great tip in the recipe, preventing any juice and color from entering the batter.

I used mini loaf pans, which are great for a brunch and for gifting. Gluten Free Vegan Blueberry Mini Loaves

They turned so delicious! This will definitely be a brunch staple for upcoming weekends.

Weekend DIY: Floral Cake Topper

Weekend DIY: Floral Cake Topper

I was looking to brighten up the sweet-themed Hummingbird Cake I made for Mother’s Day/Birthday. I searched for supplies on hand and came up with bright hued scrapbooking flowers and always festive striped straws. A day-brightening daisy-themed cake topper was the perfect puzzle piece, complete in under 15 minutes.

Apply a second dab of glue over the baker’s twine and place a piece of cardstock circle over it.

Continue to do the same for the remaining flowers.

Weekend DIY: Floral Arrangement

Weekend DIY: Floral Arrangement | The Subtle Statement

After a two year search for the perfect peony arrangement, I came across my favorite shade of individual stems and decided to create my own. Why haven’t I thought of this sooner?  I picked up a vase, wire cutters and an Acrylic Water Kit. For under $30, in under 30 minutes my ideal arrangement was complete.
