Patriotic Manicure

After perusing through a zillion patriotic inspired manicures on Pinterest, I was determined to recreate a star-spangled look myself. Surprisingly, this manicure can be done in minutes–a speedy top coat is much to thank for it!

  1. Attach an end of a lengthy piece of tape onto a counter or table. Apply two coats of blue lacquer to the tape and let dry completely.
  2. Apply two coats of red lacquer to your thumb, pointer, and pinky fingers.
  3. Apply two coats of gold lacquer to your middle finger.
  4. Apply two coats of white lacquer to your ring finger.
  5. Once dry, apply two coats of gold glitter lacquer over the already polished gold nail.
  6. Cut the painted tape into thin identical strips.
  7. Once completely dry, place two tape strips one at a time, evenly over the white painted nails.
  8. Using scissors, trim the ends of the tape strips to fit evenly over your nails.
  9. Apply one coat of a fast drying top coat to all nails.
  10. Apply an additional top coat layer over nails with the applied tape strips.

Happy Halloween {DIYs}

Happy Halloween! Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I love the crisp Fall weather, cozy knits, and pretty hues. I got creative today with some festive DIYs. With inspiration from my favorite color combo, I decorated a pumpkin, by painting it mint and sprinkling Martha Stewart gold glitter.

When I spotted the recipe for these No-Bake Pumpkin Spice Cookie Balls on the Free People blog, I couldn’t wait to get home to make them! I’m so glad I did, because they are delicious! If you love anything pumpkin, you have to try this vegan and gluten-free recipe.

By now, you’re probably fully aware of my obsession with nail polish. I created a fun Candy Corn inspired design for the Holiday.

  1. Start by painting your nails solid orange. Let dry completely.
  2. Cut thin strips of tape and place one in the middle of each finger nail.
  3. Paint the tip of nail yellow & the bottom of the nail white. Let dry completely.
  4. Pull off tape & apply a quick drying top coat. (I like Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.)

Last week, I Instagramed my budget buys of metallic denim, each under $27. I’ve been on the lookout for a great pair of metallic denim this season. I happened to be in Target the other day, and spotted these fabulous shimmery black skinnies. The sparkling sheen gives off a coated denim look. These skinny jeans are so comfortable, I could sleep in them. Did I mention they’re under $23? Major fab find.

Fall Beauty Buys

As much as I love Fall, the cooler weather does a number on my skin. I tend to turn to creamy moisturizers, hand creams, and hair masks for added moisture. Currently these products are my best beauty buys for the season!

  1. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – This was one of the goodies I received from Lucky FABB. It’s ultra-moisutrizing & leaves my hands so soft.
  2. Essie Penny Talk – I’m in love with this copper metallic hue.
  3. Essie Recessionista – Another add to the wine family collection so hot this Fall.
  4. Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Enchanted – This lip tint is amazing, it lasts all day. Enchanted is a great Fall hue.
  5. Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine – This lip butter is so silky. I love the subtle tint of color.
  6. TwistBand in Cranberry – I’ve acquired quite the collection of these hair ties & headbands. The ultimate solution to hair kinks from hair elastics.
  7. CND Cuticle Eraser – I can’t get enough of this product. It keeps my cuticles well moisturized.
  8. Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Mask – This product is so great when temperatures start to drop, and your hair needs a boost of hydration.

Cozy up to Fall with rich fine wines. The deep hued palette is quite the transition from Summer’s brights and neons. It’s a sleek alternative for basic neutrals. If you’re not ready to dive in to the trend just yet, add a dose of bordeaux to your ensemble with sleek accents.
