One of the top spots on my to-do list for Spring is always detoxing my closet. Going through and purging pieces I won’t miss, and adding a few fresh staples always sets a crisp tone for a new season. Between low energy, skin issues, and not feeling like myself as of late, I decided a revamp my nutrition, as well. I found a plant based 30 day program to promote energy, better sleep, weight loss, muscle tone, and clearer skin and relieve bloating and inflammation. Unlike “cleanses” I have tried in the past, this has been the easiest program to follow, (no counting, juicing, or meal skipping involved!), and I have felt not only full each day, but healthier, more toned, sans bloat and headaches. I’m not even half-way through the program, and I feel that it was exactly what I needed to get back on track with clean eating, and nutrition based meals, and a vast boost of energy!
My favorite go-to salad lately is a Mediterranean detox salad. It’s super simple to meal prep, without becoming soggy like other greens! Not only is it delicious, but there are countless health benefits to the ingredients. The versatility of the salad makes it easy to mix things up for the week, by eating the salad for lunch or dinner, or stuffing it into a grain-free wrap with a scoop of hummus for a protein packed meal! So so good!
If you’re in need of a Spring detox, or could use help with meal plans, recipes and clean eating, I’d love to chat!
Happy Valentine’s Eve! I’m putting together Hudson’s Valentine’s basket to surprise him tomorrow. Since he was born we’ve formed little traditions for each holiday, and he’s now at the age where he really looks forward to them!
Valentine’s Basket – I love gifting him holiday themed books, because he has built a collection for each holiday. For each upcoming holiday we display those books on his nightstand shelf to read for the weeks leading up to it. He always remembers who got him each book also, which makes them special! This year I added a Limited Edition Valentine’s version of his favorite body wash, Yum Earth heart gummies and lollipops, and chocolate!
Valentine’s Breakfast – A special breakfast of heart shaped pancakes and cut-out fruit are such a fun touch to make the holiday special! Coordinating napkins, plates and cups are such a festive addition!
Baking & Decorating – Hudson loves to bake with me! This year we baked molten chocolate cakes with strawberry sauce in heart shaped silicone molds. He loves adding ingredients (& stealing chocolate chips in the process!) Sugar cookies are always a favorite! This recipe is so yummy! I put a variety of sprinkles in a paint tray, which makes it fun to get creative!
Arts & Crafts – Something as easy as having a simple craft setup with supplies we already have on hand when Hudson wakes up makes him so excited! Here are some cute ideas!
The Night Before.. we read The Night Before Valentine’s Day!

Hocus Pocus was my favorite movie growing up, paired with a passion for playing dress up, which led to a fashion degree, it was inevitable that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I even celebrated my birthday a month early one year as a little girl so I could have a Halloween theme and everyone could dress up! So when Hudson got an invite to a Halloween Party last week, we couldn’t be more excited! I made him a Woody costume, (he’s going as Buzz Lightyear for Trick or Treat!), and we baked his favorite chocolate chip cookies. He ended up coming down with a cold virus and pink eye, and missed the party, so we made the most of the situation and decided to throw a party at our house this past weekend!
My best friends and I all have kids around the same age, and we usually get them together once a week for play dates so they’ve grown to become best friends.
I asked Hudson which movie he wanted to play at his party, suggesting a few toddler-friendly movies, and he replied, “Can we watch Hocus Pocus? I just love it!” How cute is that? We enjoyed cider, PSLs and yummy comfort food, a chili bar, veggies and desserts.
The kids decorated pumpkin shaped cookies, which also served as dessert!
Pumpkin painting was next. It was so much fun watching how they each chose to paint and decorate their pumpkins!
Hudson made a clown pumpkin!
They each dressed up in fun little costumes! Hudson was so excited to be Woody. I included him in each step of the design process, so he couldn’t wait to wear the full costume!
The kids had so much fun, this may turn into our annual party! Do you have any fun Halloween traditions?
What’s your signature? The one thing about you that never changes and embodies your identity. My hair would surely be mine. I started styling my hair in loose beach waves in college in 2009, and I never stopped. I feel totally out of my element with straight hair! The process of washing, drying and curling my hair is a long one (there’s so much of it!) So instead of repeated daily heat damage, I’ve discovered ways around it to keep styling to a minimum and my hair healthy!
On day one, i style my hair, then spray a lightweight hair spray on my hands and run it through. My coveted styling wand has lasted 8+ years and is still going strong! It’s worth every penny! (Get it 30% off here!)
Before bed, i spray dry shampoo on my roots and throw my hair up in a messy bun with one of these! The amazing thing about these is not only the hold, but the volume they add. When I let my hair down the following morning it looks just like the night before!
When my hair needs a little extra oomph, I spritz a texturizing spray and it brings it back to life! This power duo saves me countless amount of time during the week, and they’re currently apart of this sale!

3. Drybar Triple Sec – I love how this gives my hair life! It’s perfect for amping up beach waves!
4. PEACE OUT Puffy Under-Eye Patches – I need these in my life!
5. TARTE Sizzle Eyeshadow Palette – I don’t normally stray away from my go-to ShadowSense because it never creases, but I’m loving the stunning colors in this palette!
6. Invisibobble Slim – I have a lot of hair, and am used to having to redo my messy workout bun about 50 times just to get through one BBG sess, these magical unicorn hair ties keep my hair in tact and create VOLUME!
7. Boscia Baby Soft Foot Peel – Okay so apart of me is a little nervous to try this, but I’ll pretty much do anything for baby soft feet
8. Diamancel Foot File – Okay this is some sort of witchcraft because it literally transforms my feet to ridiculously smooth post-pedi-like softness in seconds!
You know that time of year when the morning air is crisp enough to make you reach for cardigans and boots? That transition period gets me so ecstatic, because I live for all things Fall!
I can’t count the number of times that I realize Hudson and I are unintentionally in coordinating clothing. Coincidence, or maybe my subconscious styling us? ha. It was his first time strolling city streets this week, (we live in the middle of corn fields, cows, and crickets!) and he loved every minute of it! He’s definitely his mama’s child!
I love transition pieces like long cardigans, utility and denim jackets, because I can layer them over tanks and tees, and remove them as it warms up throughout the day. These boots are ridiculously comfy, and come in sleek neutrals!
The joy on his face captures my heart! There is nothing I love more than taking him places to explore!
We couldn’t end the day without a treat! The Milkshake Factory is high up on the list of deliciousness, and one of our new faves! If you’re in the city, it’s a must!
I have always loved organization, but when it comes to small spaces, it can get tricky! My solution to everything is using baskets or bins, you can never have enough! Without a pantry, snacks can easily get messy, and unseen. I love having a system to keep them organized, so I know what we have, and makes an easy grab and go solution! It also makes it convenient while I’m at work, so Hudson’s snacks are all in one spot and are easily accessible. I buy baskets 10″ long, that fit perfectly in my cabinets. These are great, too!
For items in bigger boxes, I transfer them into baggies with the name and date and stick them in a basket, to eliminate unnecessary space.
In the fridge, I use fridge organizers for his yogurt, and juice boxes. If we have plans to leave, I’ll cut up an apple ahead of time and stick it in a bag with cheese and crackers for a healthy snack pack!
I love using reusable bags for snacks also! They’re washable, and I can throw them in my bag. I’d love to hear your favorite organization hacks!
Have a great week! xo Brittany
By the time August rolls around every year, I have my fix of warm weather, and I’m ready to hightail it into Fall. I love layering on cozy cardigans, denim, utility and suede jackets with my go-to basics. These pieces are such a great basis to mix and match, and extend your Fall wardrobe, all at an affordable price tag!
Have a great week! Xo
